Professionalism in Real Estate

The Real Estate Institute of Australia together with its member state Institutes are working on how real estate agents can be formally recognised as a profession.

Our industry has come to a time for a decision. As agents, we need to position ourselves not as simply Agents, but as professionals at the centre of each and every real estate transaction.

We need to have a reputation for providing a high level of service and behaving ethically and honestly. Everything we do must be about increasing the quality of our service.

Three of the 6 Es the REIA has identified are Ethics, Education & Experience.

It is time for us to step up as an industry and allow it to be seen in the positive light it deserves.  We believe one of the largest missing pieces is education.  Many salespeople do not even realise what they are doing is detrimental to the industry or their clients.  They simply don’t know what they don’t know!

This huge undertaking is both good for the real estate industry and good for the community.

Being a professional encompasses knowing what should be done and how to do it well, offering an exceptional consumer experience, putting your sellers’ and buyers’ needs ahead of your own and continuing to add value and build your relationships after the sale is over.

There are many components we need to be competent at to see ourselves as professionals and congratulation on selecting this course as you will be well and truly ahead of the game once you have completed and mastered the skills in this course.
